Construction is making strong headway for Utilitra’s upcoming shop maintenance and office facility.
An extension to the south side of the Utilitra building, the 21,500-square-foot structure will provide 3,000 square feet of office space and eight maintenance bays for Utilitra’s service fleet of over 200 vehicles.
“As Utilitra and our customers continue to grow, so does our fleet of vehicles and specialized equipment,” said Candice Fowler, Utilitra president and owner. “This expansion will allow us to provide a wide array of services to minimize the total life-cycle cost of vehicles and equipment, while improving efficiency and reducing downtime for our workforce.”
The extension will include eight service bays, an infrared-heated wash bay, and a mezzanine storage area. Key features include metal roofing, insulated tilt-up panels, and 4,000 linear feet of hot water piping for efficient radiant heating.
The construction project is being undertaken by Contegra Construction Co. Joining Contegra on the project are J.F. Electric, Icon Mechanical, Bergmann-Roscow Plumbing, Kane Fire Protection, Keller Construction, Federal Steel and VeeJay Cement Contracting.
The project is estimated to be complete mid-February 2020.
